WHEAT VARIETIES FOR 2002
Unfortunately we did not get a Wheat Variety Plot planted for the 2001-2002 production year due to the weather. Therefore our variety recommendations are based off of results from previous years and surrounding areas. Following are some of the varieties producers may want to consider for this production year: Cornado, Ogalla, TAM 400, TAM 302 and Custer. These are hard red winter wheats. Some will plant soft red winter wheats, but care should be taken to market these separately to prevent mixing at the elevator.
The Wheat Variety Plot will be with Melvin Poldrack. The Small Grain Grazing Plot has been planted with Buster and Dennis Davidson.
